To all the attendees who make it possible for us to put on a world-class event right here in San Francisco.
To all the volunteers without whom our event would not be as well-organized, friendly, or smoothly-run as we envision.
To all the presenters who generously share their wisdom with everyone during our 5-day Community of the Book.
To all the exhibitors who weather the ebbs and flows of conference foot traffic to provide valuable information and demonstrations for our conference-goers.
To all the sponsors who help us afford this gorgeous but expensive city. Our cost per attendee is $615, but with your sponsor dollars you help us make ends meet.
To all the audio-visual people who amplify and then record the spoken words of wisdom for lifelong education. And to the hotel staff for your smiling faces and extreme competence.
And thank you to the four people on the planning committee with me—Barb, Rich, Linda and Lissa—for your unflagging hard work throughout the year to make the transition happen and begin the transformation. You are the true magicians of this event.
It takes a community to make a successful conference. I’d say our community really came through over President’s Day weekend in 2019!
And if you have any ideas, complaints, praise, innovations, or just want to say hello, feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].
I hope to see you next year.
