Have you ever wanted to sit down with a literary agent one-on-one for a relaxed, private 15-minute conversation about your work, publishing in general, or even anxieties you have that only an agent can put to rest?
Well, we’re going to give you the opportunity to do just that!
The literary agents who are participating in the 2019 San Francisco Writers Conference have agreed to offer 15-minute one-on-one conversations with attendees at the Hyatt Regency Embarcadero.
There is nothing to prepare. They can read some of your work and reply off the cuff, but we see this more as a chance for you to converse with an agent and talk about the things that matter most to you as a writer.
And it’s also a fundraiser for the conference. As a non-profit 501c3 corporation, we count pennies until they squeak and use volunteers to do a lot of the heavy lifting. We are so thankful to the agents who are contributing their time and talent to go this extra mile for the attendees at SFWC19.
Registration for these 15-minute slots will begin online. If there are slots left over, you can sign up at the conference
The cost for each appointment is $100 and may be tax deductible.
Differences between Agent Conversations and Speed Dating.
Agent conversations are 15-minute one-on-one meetings. Speed Dating is 1-hour of pitching as many agents as you can for 3 minutes each.
Agent conversations cost $100 for 15 minutes. Speed Dating is $75 for 1 hour.
Our recommendation? Do both!
