The AMA (Ask-Me-ANYTHING) program is a series of interactive Zoom video meetings on the web where attendees can ask questions pertaining to their writing and publishing projects. A publishing industry professional, the featured agent, would answer these questions in these monthly live meetings.

The featured agent for our September 15, 2023 meeting is Katharine Sands, a New York literary agent at the Sarah Jane Freymann Literary Agency.

Katharine has worked with a varied list of authors who publish a diverse array of books including fiction, memoir and non-fiction.

Katharine likes books that have a clear benefit for readers’ lives in categories of food, travel, lifestyle, home arts, beauty, wisdom, relationships, parenting, and fresh looks, which might be at issues, life challenges or popular culture. When reading fiction she wants to be compelled and propelled by urgent storytelling, and hooked by characters. For memoir, femoir, and himoir, she likes to be transported to a world rarely or newly observed.

Among the books she represents are: The Apothecary’s Curse, nominated for the Bram Stoker Award 2017 in the First Novel category by Barbara Barnett and its sequel, Alchemy of Glass; and Girl Walks Out of a Bar, a memoir by Lisa Smith that was featured by People Magazine as Notable Nonfiction.

I’m logged into Patreon but still don’t see a promo code. Please assist me with registering for the September AMA. Thanks!

I’m trying to buy an admission ticket, and have put in my info, but I’m not finding an option to pay the $23.18 entry fee without becoming a patron. Am I missing something?

@Barbara What happens when you click on the ‘Check Out’ button? Do you not see the ‘Place Order’ button in the resulting dialog?

@Shana and other patrons: There was a direct email sent to you with the promo code. Please use it for your registration if you haven’t already registered.
