2013 San Francisco Writers Conference
The main conference includes sessions on FOUR days this year…February 14th-17th, 2013. It will be held at the historic InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel.
Thursday, February 14th at 2 p.m. The SFWC kicks off with bonus sessions included in your registration for the 2013 San Francisco Writers Conference. NOTE: Only attendees who are registered for the main conference can attend the special early afternoon sessions!

The SFWC registration desk will be open on Thursday in the Lobby at the Mark Hopkins from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.. (The registration desk will reopen in the hotel lobby on Friday at 7:00 a.m.) When the registration desk opens, you can pick up your badge, bag and materials. While not required, we suggest you bring your registration confirmation email.
This is the place to meet fellow attendees, beat the registration rush in the morning, and perhaps enjoy dinner in the city with new friends!
From 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. on Thursday there will be Writing Intensive Classes. These evening classes are not part of the SFWC and are presented by the San Francisco Writers University at the Mark Hopkins. More information can be viewed (and you can register for these three-hour classes) online at 2013 Pre/Post Conference Classes . These evening sessions are all priced at an affordable $99 and are open to the public. You do not have to be registered for the main conference to attend these SFWU classes. Consider bringing a friend and making an evening of it!
Friday, February 15th begins with registration check-in starting at 7:00 a.m. The conference welcome session begins at 8 a.m. Enjoy a full day of sessions. (2013 Schedule with all of the concurrent sessions will be available soon online at www.SFWriters.org . There will be a keynote luncheon with award-winning mystery author Anne Perry as our speaker and an end-of-day keynote with self-publishing phenom Bella Andre as the speaker. The Café Ferlinghetti (aka the Mark Hopkin’s Club Room) will be our coffee shop, book store and exhibit hall. Stop by to see what is new, meet up with friends, grab a cup of coffee, or buy a book. Dress up if you wish for the Friday evening SFWC Welcome Gala at 6:15 p.m. with fellow attendees and presenters. Following the gala, a no-host Italian dinner at a restaurant in the city is also planned by SFWC Advisory Board member Harvey Pawl. $35 per person; sign up at the registration desk after the morning rush! FYI: Guest passes for the Gala will be available if space permits for $75. Check with the registration desk.
Saturday, February 16th is another exciting full day of sessions. Breakfast is served at 7 a.m. The Keynote Luncheon speaker is R.L. Stine. We will announce winners of our San Francisco Writers Conference scholarships for students and adults. The last session of the day is our signature ‘Ask A Pro’ where you can share a table with a small group of attendees and a presenter and ask questions. Another no-host dinner is planned by Harvey Pawl (for a French restaurant this time) in the evening!
Sunday, February 17th features a half-day (until 1 p.m.) of concurrent sessions. This is also the day for Speed Dating if you have signed up for it. (If you haven’t and there is still room, see us at the onsite Registration Desk.) One last no-host dinner is planned for a Chinese restaurant in the city.
POST CONFERENCE DAY
Monday, February 18th is an optional post conference day with more Writing Intensive Classes presented by San Francisco Writers University. Choices range from an all-day Self-Publishing Boot Camp, to half-day classes on making memories into memoir, building a writer platform, creating an author blog, discovering story magic, author branding, and more. Again, you do not have to be registered for the main conference to attend these post-conference writing classes. Half-day classes are $99 and the full-day Self Publishing Boot Camp is $199.
